Meet The Director
My name is Tino Mafi, and I am the founder of Fonua Whaiora, a Pasifika and Māori-led social service business dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and providing age care services. My journey into this field began with a deep-seated passion for helping people, nurtured by years of experience in support work throughout my career. Witnessing firsthand the challenges faced by those in need ignited a desire within me to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Driven by this vision, I embarked on the journey of establishing Fonua Whaiora, a venture rooted in the values of Pasifika and Māori cultures, including empathy, compassion, and a commitment to enhancing the well-being of our community’s most vulnerable members. Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives and to ensure that elderly individuals receive the care and support they deserve in their golden years.
Through Fonua Whaiora, we offer a range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, from personal care assistance to social inclusion activities and advocacy support. Our team is comprised of dedicated professionals who share in our passion for making a positive impact, and together, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
As the founder of Fonua Whaiora, I am honoured to lead a Pasifika and Māori-led organization that plays a vital role in shaping a brighter future for those we serve. Each day presents new opportunities to make a difference, and I am committed to continuing our journey of empowerment, advocacy, and compassion for years to come.
